3CX Supported Phones

3CX supported phones are IP desk phones that can register to a 3CX phone system, which uses the open SIP standard. This page lists new and refurbished SIP phones for 3CX from Polycom, Cisco, Yealink, Aastra, Snom, Avaya, Fanvil and Linksys. 3CX can configure many Yealink, Fanvil and Snom models automatically from its management console. Other SIP phones can usually be added by hand, with fewer features.

How to choose 3CX compatible phones

  • Supported list: phones on the 3CX supported list can be provisioned from the 3CX console. Others need manual set-up and may lose some features.
  • Firmware: some phones built for other systems, such as certain Avaya and Cisco models, must run SIP firmware to register to 3CX.
  • Features: decide what you need, such as busy lamp field (BLF) keys that show when colleagues are on a call, a headset port or a colour screen.
  • Power: check whether the phone takes power over the network cable (PoE) or needs a power adaptor.

Questions

What is the 3CX phone system?

3CX is a software phone system (PBX) built on SIP. It can run in the cloud or on your own server, and it connects to SIP trunks and IP phones.

Which phones are 3CX compatible?

3CX works with SIP phones. It provisions many Yealink, Fanvil and Snom models directly. Other open-SIP phones, including many Polycom and Cisco SPA models, can register as standard SIP devices. Check the listing and the 3CX list for your version.

Do I need special 3CX phones?

No. A phone that supports standard SIP can usually register to 3CX. A supported model makes set-up quicker, because 3CX can configure it for you.
