Refurbished VoIP Phones for Business

A VoIP phone is a desk phone that makes calls over your internet connection or office network instead of a traditional phone line. You may also see them called IP phones or SIP phones; SIP is the standard that VoIP services commonly use to connect calls. This range covers new and refurbished VoIP phones for business from Polycom, Yealink, Cisco, Snom, Fanvil, Grandstream, Aastra and Mitel. Each listing shows its condition: New, Refurbished or Refurbished B.

Check that a phone suits your platform before you order. Open-SIP phones such as Yealink IP phones and Polycom, Fanvil and Snom models can be used with many SIP services, including 3CX and RingCentral (see our 3CX supported phones). Cisco phones may need SIP or MPP firmware to work outside a Cisco system. For Microsoft Teams, choose a Teams-certified model from our Microsoft Teams phones.

How to choose a VoIP phone for your business

  • Platform: check that your VoIP provider or phone system supports the model. Many providers list approved phones.
  • Firmware: Cisco phones built for Cisco call managers may need SIP or MPP firmware before they work with other services.
  • Power: many IP phones take power over the network cable (PoE). If your network switch does not supply PoE, you need a power adaptor or injector.
  • Network port: if a computer connects through the phone, a gigabit port avoids slowing it down on a gigabit network.
  • Users: a basic model suits a shared area; reception and busy users benefit from more line keys and a larger screen.

Questions

What is a VoIP phone?

A VoIP (voice over IP) phone turns your voice into data and sends it over a network or the internet. It usually connects to your router or network switch with a network cable, not to a phone socket.

What is the difference between an IP phone and a VoIP phone?

In practice, none. IP phone, VoIP phone and SIP phone all describe a phone that makes calls over a data network. SIP is the protocol that hosted services and IP phone systems commonly use to set up calls.

Do VoIP phones for business work with any provider?

Not always. Open-SIP phones work with many providers, but some services only accept models on their own list. Phones made for one maker's system, such as Cisco or Avaya, may need different firmware. Check with your provider before you order.

Do voice over IP phones need a computer?

No. A voice over IP phone works on its own once it is connected to the network and set up with your account. You do not need a PC switched on to make calls.
